Not sure if you found a solution, but my problem was in fact a power issue. Apparently I’d been using an off-brand power supply this whole time, and a PS2 one to boot! As soon as I swapped in an OEM PSOne PSU, the console performed beautifully! With that in mind, I’d say you’re likely dealing with a power issue also if it looked just like mine. I’ve been using generic Tomee component cables on my PS2 as well and haven’t had any issues with them to this degree. Is your PS2 using an official power cable? Good luck!
