Could this be because PS4 detects Pro supports LPCM 7.1 and does not provide an option for 2.0 output which your display perhaps would require? At the moment Pro just forwards the multichannel audio stream to the display. It could remove the other channels, but then some sounds would be missing. I suppose a proper fix would be making Pro’s EDID configurable so that sound support could be narrowed to enforce devices like PS4 to fall back into stereo output.
