I can’t comment on the HDMI to VGA converter though, they are somewhat hit and miss as far as quality goes, some work great while others have black crush issues.
Note that performing a 50 to 60hz (PAL to NTSC) conversion will result in an image that has a lot of screen tearing. You can also only do this conversion using scaler mode.
