I purchased a CPS2 Digital back in 2020 and just bought a QSB kit to install into my CPS3.

After installing, I updated the FPGA to the latest cps3 firmware in Quartus. However, I am only getting lines for a picture. I am getting audio and the OSD menu is working. Continuity seems to check out and I am getting RGBs out of the JAMMA connector. I’m not sure where to go from here.

There is signal from C1 and C2 to the cps2 digital board

If audio and OSD are working stable, then the issue is unlikely to be in the clocks. Are the visible lines always in the same position or moving? You may want to test connectivity of HS and VS signals (maybe also at output of U16) since HS being stuck at 0 or 1 might cause an issue like that (only 1 out of 40 line buffers getting written).

update: switched hsync and vsync and everything works – vsync was on IN1, hsync on IN2 🤯

The lines on screen were moving.

I looked at HSYNC and VSYNC out of U16

            hsync

            hsync

            vsync

Seems like the extra logic chip on some CPS3 boards has been wired differently. Probably should add a note on the instructions
