So I’ve tried the new firmware with the new Sync settings to Low and Ultra Low and for the moment it seems to work much better. I’ve played for 20 minutes yesterday without a sync to black.

I’ll need more time to test it out thoroughly (for more than an hour) though right now it’s already a huge advancement! Thanks a lot for the firmware…Read more

So… it’s a couple of months later now…

Still, no success with my Wii and OSSC. There’s some random black flickerings happening and I can’t control/fathom where that comes from.

I found a way to play my Wii on my 4k screen without these flickerings by using the RetroTINK 4k. So, I can’t say that my issue (OSSC and Wii) has been solved, rather…Read more

Hmm, I haven’t checked since my last message. I’ve been mostly abroad for work so didn’t have time to do proper testing.

My configuration is much simpler: Wii -> HD Retrovision Component Cables -> TV.

Though I did order the Retrotink 4K which will give me another way to connect my Wii to the TV. And from there, I might discover whether it’s due…Read more

Thanks marqs – so the idea (I guess) is that I have to play with the sync options until I find what works (for my Wii/TV combination)? Any things I shoud be aware of?

Are there any risks of bricking or destroying anything (e.g. my TV) if I go too far with the options?

Okay, so unfortunately this was a short-lived joy. Maybe I was just lucky, but the last few days I’ve played the Wii again (legit Wii and GC discs as well as through USB LoaderGX and Nintendont) and these black screen (flickers?) appear again.

There seems to be no consistency. Sometimes I’ll have a couple of minutes without any black screen,…Read more

I’m curious, what do these settings actually do?

HOWEVER! I remembered reading that the quality of the connections (cables and such) was everything and so I decided to put the electrical plug of…Read more

Hello everyone,

First of all, this is my first post here, I hope I have all the required information for you to be able to support me. OSSC works fine with other consoles, but I’m having issues with my Wii…

I’ve been trying to get my Wii (EU launch model) to work with OSSC (first with a model from 2021, and now with the 1.8 model) and I always…Read more
