So that is another TV which does not have aspect ratio control? Since the new firmware is going into testing very soon, I could still try to include the super resolution mode for 480p which was mentioned previously. This would at least solve the issue for such analog 480p widescreen displays. For digital flat panels with similar limitation, the best way would be adjusting VIC or M[1:0] Picture Aspect Ratio metadata and hoping they read and act on it. The highest compatible but worst quality option would be the interpolation method, but that would take much more effort to implement.
