I haven’t so far bumped into any CRT which needs pin 8 to display RGB after correct AV channel is manually selected even though I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if such occasional ones exist. Typically 5V at pin 8 just annoyingly switches late-90s and newer TVs into 16:9 mode which needs to be manually reverted to 4:3 (often only possible via remote control).
