Please forgive me if my interpretations are off-base – I wanted to share a thought and gauge feasibility on this theory on an ability to effectively add an image resizing effect or windowboxing by having the OSSC produce a 3x line image (720p) with selective scan line multiplication of blacked-out lines to produce a near line doubling output. A 480P image in a 720P frame.

In normal 3x mode, every scanline is tripled. Instead is it possible to produce a mode in which the first scanline is 120x blacked-out, followed by every next scanline 2x and the last scanline 120x blacked-out? I don’t have a full understanding of the line multiplication, but the idea would be to have a 480P centered frame around a 720P image. (Assuming 240P input).

This is indeed impossible without at least a partial frame buffer. However, the OSSC Pro will be able to do something like this.
