      Hi there,
I want to use and Amstrad CPC with the OSSC. The question I have is regarding the rgb cable I was sent from ebay seller in a CPC scartcable/power pack combo. It says that is a new improved “active” cable which should help with being connected to modern displays. It wants the 5V power supply linked to the scart cable as in this picture: https://ibb.co/egYBO7
My question is, will this be safe to plug into the OSSC? What benefit is the power supply supposed to have for the video connection?
      Thanks for any advice

Hmm, I’m not familiar with the CPC. It looks like from the drawing the power is going into the Amstrad? Is that a 5 volt input in the back of the CPC then?

Yes it is. I looked on the Web and seemingly the computer will work with ossc eg. here http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/cpc-ossc-open-source-scan-converter/

But there is no mention is power going into the scart. I’m obviously wary of trying it off it will harm the ossc..

Any idea what the +5v into the Amstrad is for?

Power going into the SCART usually means a sync stripper, which shouldn’t be needed with OSSC.
