Hello,
i’ve attached an image of how my consoles are displaying through my tv and through my capture card.
if i’m not wrong they should be alittle wider like in the comparison of the PC version correct?
https://ibb.co/0qF5ggx
it seems to be like this on all settings, apart from a few which make the image wayyy to wide.
image used 3x 240, 1280×720 – with 1:1 scaling. even on 4:3 the image is exactly the same ratio
Switching to 320×240 optimized seems to have fixed it, yet i’m guessing that means i will need to do this for a bunch of games and systems?
The narrow image is actually correct. Pixel aspect ratio of the original console is not 1:1, but 32:35.
Here’s the math of what the actual aspect ratio of visible area is:
320 * 32/35 = 292.57
292.57/240 = 1.219 -> less than 1.3333
On original CRT displays, this would not have been apparent because of overscan cropping the image.
See also my
old post here.
I checked the post, but i don’t understand exactly which part i should do, and what the idea behind it is.
Could you please help me out alittl more, thanks
if i could get this fixed that would be great, because the optimized mode has jittery pixels and it’s a bit blurry, generic 4:3 or any other mode is wayyyyy clearer
Sorry, link was supposed to go to a specific post deeper in the thread. I fixed it now.
You don’t need to do anything, it’s already good in generic mode. The linked post just has some additional info on aspect ratio.
If you want to use optimized mode, 426.6 is the samplerate for PS1, and you can now achieve fractional samplerate with the new h.samplerate adj function.
See post here.
And you need to adjust sample phase until pixels are sharp, as usual.
Can you tell me the setting how they should be in OSSC? Afterward i can compare it to the math and such to figure it out.
This is messing with my head haha.
I’ve tried messing with everything any there is still jitter or blurring.
So if you can just tell me in simple terms what settings to what value i’d appreciate it. because then i can determine what you meant and learn how it works from there
From what I’ve understood I can not run the PS1 240p suite on the ps2 even with the component cable because of it’s dirty image, correct?
