I’m curious to see how the OSSC looks on my JVC I’Art SD CRT and to use some of its advanced features with it.

I can mostly get it working, the picture shows up but the screen scrolls vertically rapidly and I’m not sure how to get it to stay put.

My setup is: NES, SNES, Genesis etc. RGB consoles with scart cables -> OSSC -> HD Fury 2(HDMI to VGA adapter) -> VGA to Component plug on HD Fury -> TV

      Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Are you sure your CRT supports progressive scan?

          Hey Bucko,

As far as I know it should, if I understand how progressive scan works that is.

I normally use a scart to component converter and play that way without issue, but I was exploring options to make the black horizontal bars”scanlines” thicker as that is my end goal.

I was gonna link a page with the specs but couldn’t find any. It’s an AV-27WF35.

Hope you’re doing well man! Always nice to see you around.

          *Edit*
I did find the manual online. It seems to indicate it won’t accept a 31KHz signal but I was thinking maybe that was for a 480p signal, not 240p. I should mention too, the TV picks up ‘passthrough’ mode and ‘line2x’. I was thinking the OSSC outputs 15KHz in passthrough mode, but maybe I’m wrong about that?

            480p is always 31khz, 240p and 480i is always 15khz

In passthrough mode the OSSC outputs whatever is input, so if you are feeding it a 15khz signal that’s what comes out. I can confirm the HD Fury Nano and HDFURY X3 both pass through 240p OK so I don’t see why the 2 wouldn’t.

You can’t really do anything useful to a 240p image that’s just passed through, it’s more for people who want to use OSSC on multisync monitors, or purely as a transcoder, and probably won’t do anything useful for someone using a 15khz only set.

Ah okay. I was hoping to try out the scanlines a bit. I’ll have to look into other options.

              Thanks for the info Bucko!

You should already have scanlines on a CRT connecting the consoles directly.

Oh I definitely do! I just wanted to make the black lines bigger 😛

Then you need a CRT with a higher « resolution » tube. 😉
