Hey Folks,
Finally got around to adding the audio board.
i have updated the firmware, but I am not getting sound out of the HDMI.
What steps do you recommend to trace through this problem?
TIA
Slampt
never mind, tested on a different TV and with out the receiver/amp and it works!
Can you use the 3.5mm jack for audio input, or just SCART?
The OSSC unit with the digital audio add-on that was recently reviewed (https://videogameperfection.com/2017/01/05/digital-upgrade-review/) apparently can’t accept audio input through the 3.5mm jack, only via SCART… But according to the wiki (http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/OSSC#.5BOptional.5D_Digital_audio_output), it should be able to. I plan on getting an OSSC with the audio upgrade once they’re available and would like to use the 3.5mm jack for audio input vs. having to purchase a SCART adapter.
That page has been updated. In my tests it’s better to use the SCART exclusively, since merely having a SCART cable connected makes the audio fed in by 3.5mm very quiet.
Interesting. Did you try disconnecting the SCART and using component for video and 3.5mm for audio? I wonder if the audio would still be very quiet in that setup (since the SCART would not be connected).
It should be fine in this configuration. You can also feed in component via the SCART socket of course.
