Hi there,
I just tested my neogeo Open MVS with the CPS Digital installed on it, connected to my LG Oled CX tv via HDMI cable, but i got a very weird sound delay; the more play and time passes the more it becomes accurate and noticeable, and as you can see on the video it almost reached 1 seconde of delay which make it impossible to play…
I tried to connect it using Retrotink 5X with a scart RGB cable + the same HDMI cable previously used with the same Oled tv and it worked without issue.
Then, i tried to connect the device to my other tv (Samsung LED) using the same cable and it worked flawlessly without any issue.
Here is the link of the video showing the issue https://youtube.com/shorts/tR7j_5EvzbI?feature=share
Is this a known issue ?? Is the CPS Digital not compatible with some tvs (oled) ??
Can anyone help me please ??
Thank you
Very strange… do you have the TV set to game mode?
Yes i tried with and without the game mode activated.
Are you using the TV speakers directly or something like Arc/Earc?
Tv speakers directly
Have you checked for a firmware update for the TV?
The firmware is up to date.
Did you have RT5x in framelock mode when you tested with it? Neo Geo’s lower than usual refresh rate (59.19Hz) might cause issues with some TVs.
Tbh i didn’t pay attention if it was on framelock but i have to mention that i got a DFO installed as well and the refresh rate is a 59.94Hz
Also i live in a country with PAL standards so my TV.
Hmm, I wonder if DFO is causing the issue here since presumably C1 and C2 clocks are no more exactly 12/6MHz with it. Consequently generated audio clock and sampling frequency are not as intended. I’ll need to take a look into details of DFO mod and possibly generate alternative firmware for it.
Thank you for your reply but it is normal that the setup works just fine with a non OLED model ?? Because with a LED samsung tv there is no issue.
Some displays may misbehave if audio sampling rate is 1.3% too fast, others are able to work with it. I’m now working on a update that adds support for AES and DFO. You can download a work-in-progress version here. From menu, change “XTAL freq” option to DFO.
How can i install the firmware ? Is there any turorial please ?
You can follow this tutorial as the process is same. For the USB Blaster, you can get the Terasic one or a cheaper clone which are available on Amazon etc.
Hi, i just wanted to download this file you linked but the link is not working. Is there any recent version of it ?
