      Hello,

      I’ve installed the C64VE to my C64 and I only get a black screen or if I’m lucky a screen filled with static (from the original video output) or horizontal lines from the component video.

      The VICII chip is a 6569R3 and the motherboard revision is what I think you call a ‘long’ PAL board

      Please help!

            It could be that the VIC2 adapter is not seated properly. It requires a little force.

            Also, pin 21 of the vic2 doesn’t look like its going into the socket. Remove and re-seat it.

              Ok, now I get static 100%

              The purplish image is going to my BVM and the static one is going to my retrotink2X.

              If I plug the the VIC2 straight into the motherboard as before – should the C64 just work as before through composite?

                I connected the VIC2 chip direct and got the same result.

                After that, I reseated all of the socketed chips on the main PCB and it booted up fine, put back in the kit and it worked great.
