I own a C128 and I like this mod a lot, so I was wondering if it can be used on a C128 too. I believe it has the same VIC chip for the composite output, if I’m not mistaken.

Theoretically I think it does (obviously not for things like 80 column mode though) but I don’t know anyone who’s tried it.

The component video mod will NOT work in the C128. The C128 uses the VIC-IIe chip which is 48-pin and the C64 VIC-II is 40 pin.

There is some discussion of a C128 version in c0pperdragon’s github: https://github.com/c0pperdragon/C64-Video-Enhancement/issues/4

For the C128 two solutions for clearer S-video that I know of are the ClearVideo128 RF modulator replacement by Jay Desmarais, and the Shuriken 128 by commodore4ever.

            Ok, thanks for the clarification.

c0pperdragon published a VIC-IIe adapter for the C128 – someone used itand placed the FPGA board external to the C128 and got it working:

              Exciting! Looks good!
