Hi all, got my OSSC and I bought the L336 remote off eBay because I didn’t realise it was so important to the function of the OSSC, I figured I’d just program it myself.

However, my OSSC wont react to any infrared input. Is the LED meant to flash when it detects an Infrared signal? I’ve been trying to do the “Power on while holding button 2” to program the OSSC to read the L336’s default state, but it wont react at all to any buttons. So I grabbed my old Sony CRT TV remote and it also doesn’t cause the OSSC to react, nor does it react to my Samsung home theater remote, or my Samsung TV remote.

      What’s going on?

The L336 comes blank, you need to load some recognised codes into it for the OSSC to see. They must be in NEC IR format. See http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=OSSC#Remote_control_setup for some more suggestions.

Yeah, I know. The problem is that the OSSC won’t react to any IR signals from any of my remotes. Is the LED on the OSSC meant to flash when it detects IR? Because mine doesn’t.

It is, are you sure your remotes output in NEC IR format?

It won’t react to all remotes. Most of my remotes don’t work with the OSSC.

Right, only NEC IR format codes work.

Oh interesting! So, the L336 with no programming might be sending signals in some other format? I didn’t know it worked like that.

I’ll just order a pre-programmed L336 from your website in the case, sounds like it should work!

Yeah that’s guaranteed to. If you have a learning remote like a Pronto or Harmony there are codes you can download from the Wiki too.
