      Hi there,

I have noticed there a few tweaks and easy fixes to try and get better support for some of the different video modes on the OSSC, particularly if you are running one through one of the DVDO systems.

Currently I am trying to get the best picture from my fifth and sixth generation devices (especially the PSone and PS2) by making transitions between 480px2, 240px4 and 480ix4 as seemless as possible. By my deduction, I figured having 480ix4 would help with that tremendously.

In anycase, are there any known sampling profiles that would improve support for 480i quadrupled through devices like the DVDO iScan VP30?

      My OSSC version is 0.78.

I am open to suggestions if you folks have any.

      Thanks.

I’m not sure it’d help as much as you think, the transitions cause screen blanking because the refresh rate changes, that will happen regardless of the output mode of OSSC.

While you would be right about the refresh rate changes, there are videos proving that the gap between transitions can be made alot shorter if games run at the same, or similar, resolutions:

And another video showing how much of a difference it can make:

It needs to be noted that the ABT Scalers used alongside OSSC units are set to unlocked framerates and that may partly explain why transitions are as quick as they are in both videos. I only wonder if faster transitions are still possible with 480i Line4X, and if so, how can it be made more compatible with DVDO iScan video processors.
