Running latest firmware and don’t seem to be getting an image while in either scaler mode or line multiplier mode for TMNT arcade PCB. Screen is black with audio running in the background.
Running through HAS SuperGun 8-pin mini din to RGB input on the Dexx, hdmi out to my lcd tv. All other PCB’s work just fine in scaler and line multiplier (MK1 and 2, NBA Jam, Ninja Gaiden, Superman, Sega System 16, Primal Rage, etc. What could cause this with TMNT?
Note: TMNT PCB works fine in my arcade cabinet w/ wells Gardner k7000 series 15khz crt
November 3, 2022 at 7:47 AM #55615Can you still use OSD or is the board constantly trying to resync? Have you tried disabling framelock and using a known output refresh rate like 60Hz (game could be 55Hz or similar)?
November 3, 2022 at 11:59 AM #55619Hi Marqs,
If I switch video output back to OSD I can get back into the OSD without a problem. Yes I’ve attempted turning off frame lock and ram through all of the frequency options.
Question – when I adjust these options do I have to save and reboot for them to take effect or should it be instantaneous?
November 3, 2022 at 6:15 PM #55623So you need to go back to test pattern to see OSD? Sounds like the board is not syncing, perhaps you should try reducing “Analog sync Vth” under AV1 sync opt.
The option adjustments are immediate.
November 3, 2022 at 7:31 PM #55624Thanks again Marqs for the advice. Tried reducing Analogue Sync Vth to 0mv with no success.
What could cause this board in particular to not sync properly? Any ideas what could be different internally to all of my other JAMMA edge boards?

Somebody should scope the sync signal coming out of TMNT based boards. I recall these have been reported not to work with original OSSC either which uses completely different video frontend chip. If you disable framelock and change to AV1_RGBS input from test pattern when the board is on, is there any indication of syncing (OSD status flashing etc.)? It would be strange if the frontend just reports no sync, especially if you have tried lowering the Vth.
November 3, 2022 at 9:34 PM #55627Hey Marqs,
I also own your OSSC and that is correct I get no sync with that either with my TMNT – OSSC just shows no Sync I believe. I May be the one that has recently been reporting this issue as a matter of fact. Reason I bought the DExx was hoping that this would resolve the issue when using Scaler mode as apposed to line multiplier but still no luck.
What do I look for on the DExx for OSD indication? Are there flashing lights on the board to look at since it doesn’t have a display like the OSSC?
I am going to ask friends and family to chip in for an o-scope for my Xmas present this year so I might be the one looking into this myself 🤣 might need assistance as to where I should probe the sync signal though as I’m still learning all of this.
Thanks again Marqs,
