      Hi guys,

I’m running a ps2 console to an OSSC with HD retro cable. There are horrible black bars top and bottom of the screen that are specific to FF10. Apparently this is normal due to a bad port from NTSC to PAL, but since I’m using advanced hardware I’m hoping there is a way to make this full screen top to bottom (4:3).

You might be able to reduce V.active to 448 and V.backporch by 64 or so to force the display to interpret the picture differently.

The display might be less tolerant of doing this with a 50 Hz signal though, and there is no guarantee it will recover the intended aspect ratio. You might need to compensate by adjusting H.samplerate, H.synclen, and H.backporch to get the right aspect ratio, at the cost of sharpness.
