      Dear community,

I´m a new proud owner of OSSC 1.8 (currently running under firmware 1.07a).

Today I wanted to update to firmware 1.09.

I was precisely following the steps presented in the update video.

I´m using Win32DiskImager – it doesn´t give me an error while writing the ossc_1.09-aud.bin file to the microSD card (using a Kingston 32GB microSD).

But when selecting the Firmware update option in the OSSD menu, it´s saying “invalid image”.

Then I formatted the SD card once more and tried it with balenaEtcher. After selecting the ossc_1.09-aud.bin file, it shows the error message “Missing partition table. It looks like this is not a bootable image.”. Anyway I ignored it and continued writing the image to the SD card, but OSSD gives me the same result: “invalid image”.

To be sure, I downloaded the ossc_1.09-aud.bin once again from the firmware site, and tried all of the above again – with the same results.

      Any thoughts from anyone?

      Best regards,

      Tobias

Is your OSSC from VGP or a third party?

          Hi,

I´ve ordered OSSC from the official website (https://videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-scan-converter/?sld=retrorgb)

          Best regards,

          Tobias

Do you have a smaller card to try than 32gb?

              Hi,

sorry, it took me a while to buy a smaller card.

That actually solved the problem: I bought a 4GB card and the update to 1.09 worked like a charm. Perhaps worth to write this as a statement into the firmware update procedure since the “usual” cards that everybody has around are getting bigger these days.

Thanks a lot for your support!

              Tobias
