http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=OSSC#Import_settingsNovember 13, 2018 at 2:30 PM #23713I’ve just updated to this version to use the new extended range of the h samplerate to get 1080p50 working but it doesn’t appear to save the changed value to the profile:
I changed h samplerate from 2200 to 2640, then saved settings to profile 0 but when I power cycle the value reverts to 2200 and even manually loading the saved profile has no effect.November 13, 2018 at 3:16 PM #23714For those that don’t already know where to get it: https://www.niksula.hut.fi/~mhiienka/ossc/fw/
November 13, 2018 at 5:37 PM #23720Thanks for the firmware update, new features are always well appreciated!
Sadly this update does not help the issue discussed in this thread: https://videogameperfection.com/forums/topic/ps2-240p-rgb-doesnt-work/
PAL PS1 and NTSC NeoGeo AES still will not work with the Panasonic GT50 plasma with firmwares newer than 0.76. Sync is achieved by the OSSC, but whatever the OSSC is outputting is not displayed on the TV even if the Sampling Options used to get the machines displaying ok with 0.76 are inputted.
Is this issue never likely to be addressed? Or is it forgotten about? I appreciate it might be difficult to diagnose if it is specific to a handful of tvs that the devs do not have, but I live in hope.
Back to 0.76… 🙁
November 13, 2018 at 8:58 PM #23728Fantastic update!
Probably gonna have to get used to the weird aspect ratio with 512 pixel wide games though. Everything is way too skinny for my tastes.
Also I’m kinda worrying about the capture side of things since its probably gonna be a bit blurry on the horizontal axis.
What it looks like on my monitor:
What it looks like in my capture software
It’s apparently outputting 1024×960 (in the 4x mode), so I have to stretch it to 1280×960 in Amarec.
If there’s any fix for this let me know!
November 14, 2018 at 2:26 AM #23729I’ve just updated to this version to use the new extended range of the h samplerate to get 1080p50 working but it doesn’t appear to save the changed value to the profile:
I changed h samplerate from 2200 to 2640, then saved settings to profile 0 but when I power cycle the value reverts to 2200 and even manually loading the saved profile has no effect. There seems to be a bug that prevents loading of a few last entries from saved video modes table.
November 16, 2018 at 1:32 AM #23755Will the extensions to sampling settings give any hope of improved compatability of 3x/4x/5x?
I have the FZ950 and it only use 3x with the same sampling changes as the EZ950.
November 16, 2018 at 3:55 AM #23756Question…will updating the FW wipe out the remote settings?
November 16, 2018 at 5:34 AM #237571080p50 would be really interesting. I might play around with it tomorrow and see if I can get anything to work. My Panasonic EX700B can only do 2x in PAL and its forced to 16:9 when it’s in game mode. I can get 3x at 60Hz using the PC settings like 1024×768, 1360×768 and 1366×768 and I think for some reason it accepts 1280×768, but I’m screwed for PAL at the moment lol.
EDIT: I just confirmed it and the TV definitely accepts 640×480, 1024×768, 1280×768, 1360×768 and 1366×768 all at 60Hz. I couldn’t find any other modes that work for 4x or 5x and nothing like that seems to work for PAL, not even 720p50.
It seems like Panasonic EX700 does the same thing as the Panasonic OLED TV’s where it’s very picky about what modes it will accept.
November 16, 2018 at 9:12 AM #23758Question…will updating the FW wipe out the remote settings?
The remote has nothing to do with it. If you mean the profiles, then yes they are wiped. However, you can use the website linked in this thread to (manually) create a profiles backup for the new fw. https://videogameperfection.com/forums/topic/profile-settings-web-app/
EDIT: I did see now on shmups that some people using universal remotes had to reprogram the buttons. Didn’t know it worked that way, sorry.
November 16, 2018 at 3:42 PM #23766I updated to Firmware v0.82 and I now do not get any sound output from my Mega Drive, I have another mega drive without success and downgrading from 82 to 81,80 and finally 79 still no sound do you have any idea what could have gone wrong?
November 16, 2018 at 3:47 PM #23767I done the same thing yesterday accidentally and used the firmware for the OSSC with no audio. Make sure you use ossc_0.82-aud.bin
November 16, 2018 at 3:56 PM #23768Why thank you Steo, thank you so much its working now.
