OSSC 1.6 and I did the thing. External HDD power supply and ossc power mixup so it got hit with 12V 1A while unit was switched off.
I have read about five other threads and I just wanted to confirm steps I gathered from them before starting repair (sanity check).
All below tests were done without power supply connected.
Power switch off or on, I see continuity between middle pin of power barrel connector and one side of F1 but not other, nor D5 or C107. So replace fuse.
Power switch off, I have continuity between ground to 1 side of D5 and C107. Replace the diode and then test C107 again to see if that goes away?
Power switch off and All pins of U5, U6, U7, U12-16 show short to ground, replace U5 and then test U6, U7, U12-16 again. Replace as necessary.
I am using a regular iron rather then hot air, I was thinking of just taking off the LCD display while I take care of U5 to prevent accidents, good idea/bad idea?
Once all fried U# parts and fuse/diode/cap are testing good, put LCD back on and power up. Look for damage to U3 if LCD reports init error -4 and no good HDMI output.

Is that a pretty good summary of things to check/steps to take and order of repair/testing?

Replaced F1, D5 and pulled u5. U5 tested good (replacing anyway as I bought parts) so whatever is shorted is elsewhere.
Starting down the path of the other voltage regulators (still waiting on two from china as no US source could be found).
        The journey continues.
