Originally, I was planning to hook my Genesis up to the OSSC with component cables. However, now with the possibility of using the retroTINK, I’m curious if there would be a major difference between composite with the retroTINK and component with the OSSC?

Night and day. Composite is a low quality connection, component is a high quality one.

The only reason to use composite is if you like the blurring effect it does in certain games, e.g the waterfalls in Sonic, but it’s a big trade off in picture quality just for that.

The Composite on the Sega Genesis, is by far the worst composite that I have ever seen on any console. Even my modified Atari 2600 looks better.

          Easily, get the Component cables.
