      Hi,

I have a otaku-games 6in3out Amplified RGB Scart Auto Switch and I have some image ghosting/interference on some devices. In the product description of the Amplified RGB Scart Auto Switch it says to use scart cables with Built in Sync stripper.

However I do not get these issues with my PS1, PS2, OG Xbox or N64.
The scart cables for these consoles are official apart from the N64 one, this cable is from Retro Gaming Cables as my N64 has RGB mod.

I want to fix this issue for my Amiga, Humax PVR and Dreamcast. Do you know how I can fix this issue, any help appreciated.

      Scart cable used for…

      Dreamcast:
Not sure where this scart cable came from, eBay or Amazon probably.

      Humax/PVR:
Good quality standard scart cable. Decent thickness to the cable so guess it has good shielding.

      Note…
1 output connected to Sony Trinitron CRT
      1 output connected to OSSC

To clarify, you see the ghosting both on OSSC and on the CRT?

What happens if you connect the SCART cables directly to the OSSC bypassing the Otaku switch?

          The ghosting/interference is eliminated.
Maybe its something to do with the amplified output on the switcher?

Yeah quite possibly, sadly the more you put in your video chain the more likely problems are to occur.

There must be a solution right. In the product description of the Amplified RGB Scart Auto Switch it says to use scart cables with Built in Sync stripper, would it work to add that to the cables that have issues?
I mean I have no issues with some of the devices so its got to be the cable right?
If there isn’t a solution with this switcher is there an alternative switcher that can achieve what I need?

I doubt very much that adding a sync stripper will do anything, other than potentially make the image shift a bit to the left or right. Have you asked the seller why they recommend this? Sync strippers are rarely needed with consumer equipment, they’re more required when you use industrial RGB equipment like e.g Extron Crosspoint.

I have asked the seller but I don’t think otaku-games.com are trading anymore and haven’t had a response.
Do you know of another device that can switch RGB scart signals and output to 2 devices simultaneously with excellent image quality?
