      Hey there

I hope someone can help 🙂
I am using an OSSC here with my MD2.
When playing games, I have a magenta image artefact (a flickering line on the right screen side) moving from bottom to the top every few minutes.

I don’t have this issue when using stock/default settings of the OSSC.
But as soon as I set the resolution to 512xsomething or the scaling to something other than x2 I have this strange moving distortion.

I don’t have this issue on my older Mega Drive 1 and also not when using the same SCART cable on an old SCART monitor.
The cable is a cheap one, with no shielding – it also produces a “hummm” on the audio channel – may that be the issue?

      Kind regards

I’d say that was most likely caused by the cheap cable, yeah.

So it wasn‘t the cable as I found out today with a new shielded one from ConsoleGoods UK.

It only happens when I select anything except „passthru“. But passthru has kinda lag.

Playing on an old TV with Scart also works with the same device and cable.

Only with the OSSC and scaling x2 or higher it happens.
It disappears as soon as I change the mode for example to x4 and back to x2. Until the next 5 mins 🫢

Also fiddling with the sampling-settings makes the artefact smaller or bigger. But it won‘t be gone.

Can you see if the issue persists on another TV+OSSC combo?

Are you running PAL or NTSC games, and on a PAL or NTSC console?
