This weekend I’ve had the opportunity of trying out the x5 mode with 240p sources and been very impressed. However, interlaced output from consoles such as the PS2 has me a bit confused; on the remote, the “TV/AV – linemulti mode” didn’t seem to either output modes my monitor could deal with when fed 240p sources, or often said multiple mode wasn’t supported with what it was being fed.
Do I need to go into the OSSC settings to access interlace options, and what happens with games that alternate between the two (240p/480i)?
Actually, I’m not getting any option to line double/triple even 240p input now; none of my remote instructions seem to be being registered by the OSSC. The unit is still digitising output, but only at x1 I think.
Try adjusting linemult settings via menus since that gives more information. 240p and 480i have separate settings (e.g. 480i does not have line5x) which are applied as soon as respecive mode is detected on input.
Thanks @marqs; the remote control unresponsive issue was down to me needing to press the TV button on the remote (dur!).
Regarding interlace mode; I’ve tried a few settings but still don’t seem to be able to get any sort of line multiplying. Will look into it further this weekend, but I’ve tried “bob” mode and source and neither worked.
