Once again my OSSC is being EXTREMELY finicky about updating the firmware. Last time updating to version 80-aud was a huge ordeal. This time around, I’ve tried every trick up my sleeve and NOTHING will work to update to 81-aud.

So I thought to myself: “I’ve got a USB Altera Blaster. I’ll just update via the damn jtag port!” I look up the firmware download page and check the jic files list… No jic files for version 81. Needless to say, there was some cursing at the monitor screen.

Found a stupid solution that works: Make the win32 disk imager write the bin file to the card TWICE in a row. Then it worked fine after that.

Sounds like maybe the SD card is flaky?

Card is a sandisk and works great whenever I test it for any other applications. I’m thinking the Disk image software is flaky when it comes to these tiny bin files.
