When playing Ridge Racer V through the OSSC Pro, even if the Motion Shift value is set quite low (2-3) there is some weaving visible at times. I’m not that surprised since the field rendering in Ridge Racer V is pretty much a torture test for any deinterlacing algorithm.

But since motion detection may be affected by the amount of aliasing across fields and behave differently between games using field rendering and progressive rendering with various forms of flicker reduction, I’m wondering if the Motion Scale parameter applies in the regular Motion Adaptive mode and if so, a few options with different values could help reduce the issue somewhat in troublesome games?

According to documentation Motion Scale register is not available unless the IP has been confugured for video-over-film cadence which isn’t really directly related. I could check the if the register really exists by reading the remaining address space and checking if the default scale value pops up somewhere.
