I have my Koryuu setup behind my TV along with a bunch of other AV equipment. I got the Koryuu because I intended to use it with the OSSC and gcompsw. I have the gcompsw composite output going to the Koryuu, and then going into the component input of the OSSC. I have the component output of the gcompsw going to Retrotink’s COMP2RGB, and then connecting to the SCART input on the OSSC. I have the OSSC setup to automatically switch inputs when it detects a new signal from one of them. It works when going from the SCART to the component (from Koryuu), but not the other way around.

I suspect this is because the Koryuu is ALWAYS outputting a signal as long as it’s on, even if it isn’t currently receiving a signal. Is there a way to make the Koryuu only output a signal when it’s receiving one? I know turning it off is an option, but I’m trying to automate my setup and not have to reach behind my TV every time.

Ah, I see. It should be easy to implement not outputting anything when there is no input. Would you be willing to try out a test version of the firmware with this option implemented? If so, please feel free to send me a message.

I would definitely be up for testing some new firmware.

That’s great! Do you happen to have an AVR ISP programmer at hand? I have an initial implementation of a setting to not output the test pattern when there is no input. Just need to figure out how to allow the user to control it while the device is running, instead of hard-coding the setting in the firmware. Currently, in the test firmware, pressing either one of the buttons or both at the same time are mapped to input change / smoothing / save settings, respectively.

              I have this programmer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0785RQ766?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

              I hope that will work.

Yes, that one should do the job.

I released a public test firmware: version 1.1-test0. The .hex file with the _ntp suffix (for No Test Pattern) makes the Koryuu not output anything unless an input video signal is detected. Please see if it works for you.

                  That worked perfectly. Thank you!
