      How difficult/feasible/stupid would it be to add a Line2x mode for 480i that doubles it to 960i? The use cases would be a) to feed 960i to a video processor or display for the possibility of better deinterlacing than the bob deinterlacing provided by the OSSC itself and b) the chance at a sharper image from a 960->1080 scale as compared to a 480->1080 scale.

      Also, while I’m here, would the OSSC be capable of any kind of windowbox mode to, for example, set a 960 image in a 1080 frame? I would think padding the gaps with black would be feasible, but I’m not intimately familiar with the OSSC’s processing/buffering limitations.

        To clarify, I’d like to see additional selections in the 480i/576i menu for different deinterlace methods. In addition to the 960i/1152i output I mentioned, I’d also like to see a black line insertion method of deinterlacing, where black lines are inserted for the missing field instead of duplicating the following/preceding line.

        So, currently (0.82), 480i/576i proc consists of:
        * Passthru: Only digitization is applied, deinterlacing will be handled by display. Generally results to higher quality picture at the price of added latency.
        * Line2x (bob): Linedoubled 480p/576p output. [default]
        * Line3x (laced): Linetripled 1440i/1728i output.
        * Line4x (bob): Linequadrupled 960p/1152p output.

        I’d also like these options added:
        * Line2x (laced): Linedoubled 960i/1152i output.
        * Line2x (black): Linedoubled 480p/576p output, black line insertion.
        * Line4x (black): Linedoubled 960p/1152p output, black line insertion.

        This could also apply to the 960i/1080i proc menu:
        * Line2x (black): Linedoubled 960p/1080p output, black line insertion.

          I think you can already do this.
          480i 4x = 1440×960 output.
          Then going into scanline options, you can choose alternating scanline method, which blacks out every other line with every field, alternating back and forth. Basically emulates interlacing effect, though personally not sure how I feel about it. It doesn’t look quite as good as it does on a CRT still.

            Thank you; I’ll give that a try when I get some time.
