      Hi there,

       

      I wonder if anyone can assist me,

       

      I had a regular megadrive 1 connected via pack a punch RGB cable to OSSC (not pro version) and had jailbars. i went onto ebay and i have purchase one that has the jailbar fix (as well as an overclock mod and region changer). When i hooked it up I saw the jail bars are still there? I contacted the seller and he assured me the mod was done correctly (told me how he did it) and that it was more than likely settings on my OSSC?

      He also noted that of course he tested it (he doesn’t have a OSSC) and there was no jailbars which is why he thinks its an issue my end.

      Is he right? if so what settings would i need to change to remove them? I did go through the settings but every change I made didn’t do anything to the jailbars?

      Before I look to return I just thought id check its nothing in my setup / settings that causing them.

        It depends on how he did the “jailbar fix” exactly, you could ask him what bypass board he used. If he’s only lifted the VDP pin there could be room for improvement but.. you need to understand there is no 100% jail-bar fix for the Megadrive/Genesis 1 console, other than replacing the VDP entirely with a hybrid FPGA solution anyway.

        OSSC gives you an extremely clean, sharp and noise free picture and that’s why it’s easier to notice the jailbars on there than it would be on e.g an old consumer CRT.
