      Hello,

I have just gotten a Retroverse S-Video cable for my N64. It’s PAL and the motherboard revision checks out with what is written on VGP. It is plugged into my RetroTink 2X-Pro. Audio goes through just fine, but I am having issues with the video signal. Most of the time it doesn’t register at all. I have to wiggle the cable on the N64 end in order for it to appear, and then not breathe too hard in front of it.
Is this a problem with the cable, or my N64 ?

      Thanks.

I will try this weekend to clean the inside of A/V port with 99% isopropyl alcohol and also reflow the solder on the connector. I’ll post an update when I’m done.

Ok let me know how you get on, I’ll be happy to swap the cable for you if you think it’s that at fault after such extensive troubleshooting.

Ok I tried all that and the problem is still there. Unfortunately I don’t have another N64 or S-video cable to try so I’ll email you.

Just in case anyone stumbles onto this topic, the problem was with the cable itself. Matt sent me a new cable that’s been working just fine.
