At 11:35 in MyLifeInGaming’s video on the Koryuu (https://youtu.be/DPdzSsPHZEI?t=695), they show a comparison of Composite and S-Video between native hookups vs through the Koryuu on a PVM CRT. If native hookups means connecting straight to a Composite or S-Video port on the back of the CRT as opposed to the Component port via the Koryuu, does this mean that MyLifeInGaming’s PVM produces a worse picture when going through the Koryuu, or maybe they mislabeled the images? I’ve heard everyone say that the Koryuu delivers an identical picture to regular Composite or S-Video, so I’m not sure why it looks worse in MyLifeInGaming’s video.

I don’t own a PVM but I can tell you on my Megaview that transcoding S-Video from my C64 using Koryuu results in a better picture than connecting S-Video directly.

It depends a lot on your monitor and how it handles various signals I suppose.

Thank you for your response. I imagine my JVC D-Series won’t have a noticeable difference between Koryuu and direct, so hopefully it should work out well.
