Hi guys apolgies if this is been addressed many times before but I need a little help.
I have an unmodded PAL N64 and a Samsung QLED 50inch tv. The picture is crap so I bought an upscaler from Amazon. It was rubbish so I got a kaico line doubler – a little improvement but bought a MClassic to work in conjunction- a little better again.
the picture still isn’t good enough, I am wanting a better picture without modding if possible.
is the best option to buy a CRT tv or do I need to go down the OSSC/modding/retrotink route?
I think I need pros and cons to help choose what to do next. I’ve already spent out nearly £200 on trying to improve the picture!
thanks so much in advance!
J
Do you have an S-video cable? Whatever upscaler you use you want to be using the best signal possible, so that means S-video not composite.
Thanks BuckoA51,
The Kaico connects direct to the back on the N64. So it avoids using anything else.
thanks, J
Ah so it’s probably a clone/rip off of the Eon version knowing Kaico.
I’d make do for now, Morph and OSSC Pro s-video expansion card are on the way, though both of those options will require you to purchase a good quality S-video cable.
Ok I will do. Thanks so much for your advice
