FPGA BW having no effect on result is unexpected. Are you sure the fw was re-flashed correctly (should show 25th Jun on infoscreen and shortly blackout during FPGA PLL BW change)? If so, I can only think one relevant difference compared to v0.90 which could cause the issue. On v0.90 you can disable Allow “TVP HPLL2x” from sampling opt which should then have exact same clocking as v1.xx where the option is always disabled. Let me know if that results to same behaviour as with v1.xx.
June 27, 2024 at 9:02 AM #62111I took a photo of the info screen to make sure:
When I change FPGA PLL BW I indeed get a short black screen every time.
I flashed the board back to 0.90 and disabled TVP HPLL2x, this did not have an effect in the 5 minutes or so that I tested. I don’t have more time right now, but I will try this again for a longer period of time today and report back.
June 27, 2024 at 4:08 PM #62116With fw 0.90 and TVP HPLL2x, turned off, the black screens return. After about 20 mins the screen went black for about 2 seconds.
I played atleast 4 hours on 0.90 and haven’t gotten a single black screen with stock settings.
June 27, 2024 at 7:56 PM #62133Ok, that’s very useful information so I can restore TVP HPLL2x setting on the next 1.xx fw under compatibility options (off by default due to inconsistent sampling phase with it).
June 28, 2024 at 6:21 AM #62141That sounds great, hopefully this will fix the problem in the 1.xx fw. As soon as it is released I will test it.
July 4, 2024 at 9:18 AM #62267I made 2 additional test versions which are linked and described below:
T1: This has TVP HPLL2x option restored (has to be enabled under compatibiliy opt). When used together with ADC PLL BW = low, the result should be identical to v0.90
T2: Instead of using HPLL2x with its side effects, this version has expanded range of ADC PLL BW. The new “Low” setting is lower than above and should result to more stable clock at the price of increased jitterJuly 4, 2024 at 10:17 AM #62268I will test them ASAP and report back!

July 4, 2024 at 6:46 PM #62281T1 with both settings seems to run great. No black screens after 1 hour of play time. I will report back dor t2 asap.
July 4, 2024 at 8:58 PM #62282T2 also seems to work. I played for about 45 mins without black screens. It does seem to fade to black more often/longer when scenes change (movie to gameplay), but I could be wrong and it does not hurt the experience.
July 8, 2024 at 7:21 AM #62320I have used T2 for a couple of days not and it seems to be working fine. I will use T1 for a couple of days now and report back.
July 8, 2024 at 10:11 AM #62321I’ll probably go with HPLL2x option (T1) for the release version as the other one can easily result to excessive sampling jitter.
July 9, 2024 at 2:42 PM #62357Why not keep all the options available? Not to know better than you, because I know nothing about this, but these options might help other people in the future. All the new settings worked great with my tv, where the normal fw was completely unusable for me. Maybe a new settings group for last resort settings which might help when your tv is strange.
July 9, 2024 at 2:58 PM #62358There is very little precious space left on the OSSC for options at this stage.
July 9, 2024 at 8:59 PM #62367I understand, thanks.
July 29, 2024 at 2:47 PM #62663Hi all, did this fix make it into the 1.11 release or is this going into 1.12? I have a x90e bravia as well and ps2/ps1 was black-screening at 1.09 (I haven’t had a chance to test it at 1.11 yet) so I just found this thread. Is there a go-to profile for ps1/ps2 use that would include this setting (hpll2x?)?
