Hi there!
My RGB bypass/Switchless region free Megadrive just arrived from modding service and testing in my TV with OSSC Lx5 is going fine but for two things:
The vertical jailbars still appears after RGB bypass (need to check my TV brightness config or color parameters with the OSSC, or a different PSU)
And when I covered the blue border of my games (for example the Sonic 1) with vertical and horizontal mask the borders I want to use then my Zoom option from my Samsung Qled TV but it looks disabled… don’t know why.
If someone could help I’ll appreciate it and thanks in advance!
June 1, 2019 at 11:09 AM #26447Go to Video in proc – R/Pr / G/Y / B/Pb offset on the OSSC to adjust the brightness. I had to do the same for my Megadrive, it was too bright and showed vertical lines, even on blacks.
Go to Post-proc.- mask to hide the overscan and Sampling opt. – H.backporch to center the image. Don’t use your TV’s settings.
June 1, 2019 at 6:48 PM #26455Hi there!
I already read that kind of things about brightness and color calibrations but the truth is that the lines didn’t disappear at all and I’m kind of mad cause I bought the Voultars RGB bypass and ordered that modification because of the jailbars and shouldn’t be there right?
I changed the PSU also without difference and for the zooming with my TV I think I’m going to sacrifice the Lx5 mode to the Lx3 mode cause in Lx3 mode my TV showed the zooming options and also some color advantages but its so sad cause the Lx5 mode looks amazing… Very intrigued to know what causes the TV to not show this options at all, any help

The RGB bypass can’t always eliminate the jailbars completely, usually it makes them significantly better though.

Your TV can’t zoom 1080p most likely because it’s the native resolution. Such features in TVs tend to be quite basic and generally aren’t available to all screen modes.
June 5, 2019 at 8:38 AM #26514If your TV accepts it and scales it to full height, you do have limited zooming capabilities on the OSSC by lowering V.Active (to 224 in the case of Megadrive).
June 7, 2019 at 3:29 PM #26536@BuckoA51 I know that the RGB bypass don’t eliminate at all the jailbars but then why with the Framemeister there are 0 jailbars and with the OSSC they can be seen? Maybe is some configuration of my OSSC… Thanks!
June 9, 2019 at 6:36 AM #26554There is nothing that can be done in OSSC to avoid the jailbars? I am thinking this as I said because on the Framemeister there are no jailbars but the OSSC give me a better image. Thanks
