      Hi,

recently I’ve been setting up my GB Player with my Gamecube and I’ve ran into a bit of a problem. It just doesn’t look good. I started with FirebrandX GBI optimal timing settings and while it looks okay-ish the colors still smears into each other sometimes to the right. FirebrandX says:

This is because the official Nintendo component cables don’t provide a perfectly clean and clear signal, and this results in a bit of ‘smearing’ to the right of each pixel when the OSSC’s dot sample is optimally aligned.

Well, since he said that it has been quite a while and he seems to have abandoned this section of his site (with e.g. images not loading anymore), so I thought it can’t hurt to ask if a solution to the problem has been found?

I’ve taken some screenshots with the 160p test suite to demonstrate my problem: https://imgur.com/a/n1cpyTu – most notably at vertical bars at color changes. All of these tests have an instance of this color smear occurring.

      Thanks in Advance!

Which GBI are you using? You should be using GBI High Fidelity for no chroma subsampling.

Set Video LPF around 16 or 30MHz.

I’ve been using the low latency version. No idea what I’ve been thinking the HF version is for. m( Mainly used the LL version because it was easier to set 240p mode for me, but finally looking over the CLI examples I might be able to configure that for the combination OSSC and component cables.
