Good Afternoon!
Ive just purchased a OSSC and I’m fairly new to all this.
The OSSC is working fantastic with my PS2. However with my PS1 I’m getting nothing but a green image or a b&w image
Ive tried several TVS. Several cables. Scart and component
(component cables work directly into the TV with no issues)
However all I’m getting is this
Ive tried varying output options. RGsB etc nothing seems to be helping. Is this a simple fix?
Any help would be appreciated
The presence of a color subcarrier in the image (dotted patterns in areas that should have color) indicates that the signal sent from the PlayStation to the OSSC is composite video, which it does not support. And of course, the original PlayStation does not natively support YPbPr component like the PlayStation2. For the original PlayStation to work with the OSSC you need a SCART cable that supports RGB such as a PACKAPUNCH.
Below are two options from retrogamingcables.co.uk.
PACKAPUNCH SCART RGBS cable – this sends RGB plus the composite video signal for sync, just like official RGB SCART cables for the PlayStation do:

PACKAPUNCH SCART RGB cable with clean composite sync – it’s a bit more expensive, but can reduce potential interference as it replaces the composite signal sent alongside RGB with a clean sync signal:
