Thank you Marqs For the .80 Update. But only Works when I take my Micro SD out and keep it out. If I put it back in, my OSSC Pro freezes up. Just thought you should know, thank you for all your hard work sir!
SD issues of 0.80 have been reported, but so far freezing was only triggered by SD profile save feature. There is some more evidence it’s caused by IO timings but we’ve not found any reliable method to guarantee operation aside from painstakingly testing each new bitstream with slow & fast cards and different Pro boards. It doesn’t help that SDIO standard utilizes both falling & rising edge for data launch from SD side which is challenging to capture reliably with FPGA. Hopefully you find a card which let’s you update from 0.80 to the next release when it’s available.
Oh no! I didn’t even think of that. I hope I won’t be stuck on .80 now. I guess I’ll try some SD Cards.
Has Anyone Found a Certain Micro SD That Works with the .80 Firmware?
I’ve now managed to mostly debug the OpenCores SD card controller, and it seems like we’ve been dealing with 2 different issues. The first one can corrupt file system during write access and that should now have a fix (fingers crossed) which will be included in the next FW. The second one can freeze Pro during write access (also occasionally upon detect or read) and that’s still to be fully solved. Both depend on the Pro unit and SD card used so not every 0.80 user will face those. The latter issue might also be hard to track down since enabling debug features seems to make it disappear (already occurs only on a single combination of 2 Pros and 2 SD cards I’ve used for testing).
With 0.80 my OSSC Pro hangs while saving setting to SD, creating 0 len files. I had to return to 0.79.
While waiting for fixing, it’s possible to have the “scan for source at boot” option, like in the first OSSC?
