I just got my OSSC Pro (firmware v0.77) and am loving it so far. However, one issue that I haven’t found a solution to is the picture being stuck in a 4:3 aspect ratio in adaptive line multiplier mode when using my GameCube with a Carby adapter through the AV4 port. Trying to switch the setting in adaptive LM options does nothing, is there another setting somewhere that I’m missing?

The aspect ratio setting works as intended in scaler mode and when using component cables instead of HDMI, but I would love to be able to use the Carby in ALM. For reference, I’m using Line3x to output in 1440p.

Obviously this is not a huge deal as there are workarounds and most GameCube games are natively in 4:3 anyway, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Everything else is working perfectly so this is the final piece in my puzzle 🙂

You can try adjusting H.active but generally you need to change aspect ratio on your display, aspect ratio can’t be changed in line multiplier mode.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot. Aspect ratio can’t be changed on my TV when it’s receiving a 2560×1440 signal. I was able to adjust the aspect ratio in line multiplier mode with a different input so shouldn’t it be able to be done or am I missing something?

Are you sure you were in line multiplier mode?

Yes I’m sure, I’ve been able to adjust the aspect ratio in adaptive line multiplier with my Wii plugged in through component, GC through component and Xbox through Scart. HDMI is the only input where I haven’t been able to do so.

Is there any reason why it shouldn’t be possible in line multiplier mode? It has the option after all and, once again, has worked fine with any other input other than HDMI.

Sampling mode settings have no effect on digital sources as there is no sampling to be done. A separate 16:9 option for anamorphic digital sources could be added, but the resulting aspect would not be accurate in general (especially on lower output res) since LM modes are only capable of integer scaling.

That makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I think having the option would be nice even if the result is not completely accurate but I understand why it hasn’t been implemented.

                  Happy holidays!
