I was playing around last night with the Framelock Off (preset Hz) mode and adjusted the output (1080p @ 50 Hz) down from 50 Hz to 49.76 Hz to better match the input (PS game on PS2 outputting ~49.7611 Hz.) The idea was to reduce the intervals at which the OSSC Pro needs to skip or repeat a frame compared to Framelock Off (50 Hz) during 314p gameplay.

When doing this, as the PS2 switched between outputting 314p @ 49.7611 Hz and 625i @ 50 Hz, the OSSC Pro lost sync momentarily, similar to when Framelock is turned on.

Is that an inherent limitation or something that can be improved?

I think the problem is that while source is switching mode, Pro may temporarily see source refresh rate doubled (i.e. 100Hz) which causes switch to slightly different timings (e.g. 1080p has different output presets for 50/60/100/120Hz) that causes sync break. I’d need to think what would be a clean way to resolve this.
