Hi there!
Before updating my OSSC to 0.83 I extracted from my SD card the ossc_profiles_0.82.bin file where I suppose I have my profiles settings and now after updating to 0.83 I put there again the same .bin file but nothing appears…
Please could anyone me some help since I already expend a lot of time tweaking all my consoles configs there and wanna have it again T___T
I think I can import my bin config to the OSSC Profiles web app and ten export it again but I don’t even remember if my “profiles_0.82.bin” file was from Firebrandx’s website and the changes I made after import that are not going to be saved there…June 14, 2019 at 2:10 PM #26644The manual states that profiles are not compatible across versions. You need to go back to that webapp, load in the JSON dump of your profiles (you saved that, right?), and generate a bin specifically for 0.83.

No I didn’t save my json file… I’m starting over again even having better results with my SNES and the new “H. S.Rate Adj” on value 5 that looks a lot sharper than before!
So I’m going to do the same with my Genesis and then how can I save that json file? Also would be great to put a name on the profiles.
Thanks!
June 14, 2019 at 3:33 PM #26646There should be a “Save .JSON” option adjacent to the “Save BIN” option on the profile tool. You can later do an “Import .JSON”, and up-convert from old versions to new.
June 15, 2019 at 12:28 PM #26658But the only way to save the profiles is setting all the values manually on that website? Not from the OSSC? Thanks!

Correct. The OSSC currently does not have any facility for exporting profiles to the SD card, and I don’t think that website has the ability to read profiles from a generated profile bin file.

Hope in the future the OSSC haa the capability of doing thatJune 15, 2019 at 4:09 PM #26666I’m not sure the platform has enough memory, but I think it would be significantly more user-friendly if the OSSC could read FAT16/FAT32 volumes, so that one could pop in a formatted SD card with both a firmware update and profile configuration file, so you don’t have to write the firmware, install the firmware, write the profiles, install the profiles. And I would think that having a FAT32-formatted SD card would make exporting profiles feasible.
But there’s probably not enough memory available with the current hardware. Maybe with a new hardware revision with a more powerful FPGA.
