I did the mod on my 1.6 revision OSSC and installed 1.10a. Noticed that my PS2 outputting PAL through scart is fine but when switching to DVDPAL, it shows on the mini screen that it’s rapidly changing and nothing shows up on screen.

NTSC and DVDNTSC are working just fine.

What do you mean by DVDPAL, playing PAL DVDs on PS2?

Yes, playing DVDs on PS2, it seems to be a different video mode compared to bios’ video mode. PS2 testmode has resolution switching and every resolution other than DVDPAL is working

Perhaps macrovision is enabled on the DVD mode and that messes up sync. Those watching DVDs on PS2 via RGB-scart presumably have modchip etc. to get around green screen so macrovision should be disabled at the same time.

I tried a DVD player which was working fine with everything else but one DVD which would make the same issue as on PS2 DVDPAL mode, after selecting language and watching through the copyright screen. And in the past with my scart cable and OSSC I could just switch the mode to RGsB and it fixed the screen being green (iirc). I’m just wondering why DVDPAL isn’t working anymore

So you think this issue only started with v1.xx firmware? It has indeed completely different sync & mode detection method, but in most cases the new one has been much more robust.

I will test 0.90 fw tomorrow when I get home from military, to see if it’s just the 1.xx making the issue happen. I don’t use my PS2 that often for DVD playback anyways because I have PS3 and PS4.

Just tested with 0.90a and the video mode synced just fine, it was green on RGBS and RGsB but on YPbPr it was correct.

Here is what happens on 1.10a: https://youtu.be/_L_CW_VGblo

                    Same test on 0.90a: https://youtu.be/pryGcxCL8n0

On friend’s dvd player it does that switching but a lot faster only on a certain anime dvd, but not with the other dvds.
