I have an OSSC that I’ve had since last year. I did not build it myself. It was working fine this weekend running some tournaments in Vegas, but when I plugged my PS2 into it tonight to test some games out all I get now is a lit up, but blank LCD and red light. I unplugged the PS2 scart cable from it, and still nothing. It was a Scart CSYNC cable from Retro Gaming Cables

I surround these things in foam when I travel, so i doubt it was a travel issue. Any ideas?

Issue with FPGA communication, you will need to get the unit serviced.

Crap. How much is that going to cost? And who can repair it in the US? I’d rather not ship it overseas. Or can I just order one myself and solder it or just it require programming?

If you have access to a USB Blaster (or equivalent clone), I’d suggest trying reprogramming of the flash chip before going further.

That should do the job, but keep in mind that corrupted firmware (which can be thus reflashed with the programmer) is just one possible explanation for your symptoms, so there’s no guarantee the buying a programmer will fix the unit. Anyway, a short guide for JTAG programming is found here.

A cheap USB-Blaster-Clone should do the job too (for me it does):

… but may require an older version of the Quartus Prime software in order to work properly.

Has anyone confirmed a solution for this yet? My OSSC just did the same thing today. I ordered a USB Blaster as suggested so I am hoping that’s the problem.
