It’s not possible, since A1 OUT is hardwired directly to the SCART connector. So there’s nothing to do about it on the software side. A new hardware revision would be needed.

But why not use a separate y-cable or a cable/input switch on the pc speakers?

I am using a manual switcher now. I just thought it was more elegant going to the OSSC. Oh well, can’t have it all 🙂

I appreciate the answer to my question though!

          Hi!

I have problem with 1.10 and 1.11 firmware versions. On 1.09 firmware everything shows correct in default settings on x5 mode. On versions 1.10 and 1.11 I get green pixels and lines in dark areas. Nothing else is changed than firmware, both pictures have default settings just mode changed to x5. On lower x modes everything works. I have SNES with 60Hz and Dejitter mods, and I use PACKAPUNCH RGB scart cable

          Different firmwares

Hi all – hoping for some help. I performed the modification with clean welds as far as I can tell (no bridges on the IC side and continuity confirmed to the old resistor pad).

Following the modification I updated to the latest firmware (1.11) and got a No Sync message. Downgraded back to 0.89 and still got the same message. To confirm it is a VGP ossc 1.6 and worked fine beforehand.

            Any ideas please?

Never mind! Reflowed the full side of the IC and it’s working again! 1440p here I come

@akvankka: some boards seem to have timing issues with high-frequency clock on certain firmware versions that gets reported every now and then. According to the FPGA design tool IO timing should be fully clean, though. Any trivial RTL modification also completely changes timing so it’s hard to debug. I can check if any of my boards have this issue with 1080p/1440p output.

I have McBazel OSSC v1.6 bought in end of 2022.

Just for information, if someone else is having same kind of problem.

Hi all, I have OSSC 1.6 (Mcbazel version), sorry if already asked but, is it possible to do the hardware mod to install latest firmware? Also, I’ve looked to the upgrade instructions and photos, and it looks that the wire that connects to the chip leg actually is the leg that connects to ground? And if so… Wouldn’t be easier to solder on another location on the board? Thanks.

No. Originally the leg isn’t connected to anything:

I’ve finally done the mod, I’m now on the latest firmware, and all seems to be working fine. It is great to see the OSSC getting this kind of support at this stage. And I would like to thank everyone involved, thank you.

Same problem here! My device is BitfunX revision 1.6. I use reverse LPF and I realized that you can’t go above 15, as the green spots appear stronger. When I deactivate the reverse LPF they disappear almost completely. I will try Firmware version 1.09.

                              Hello everyone,

I do have 2 OSSC 1.6 (both different maker but none vgp)

modded both of them and applied 1.11a firmware.

If i open OSSC and choose AV1 and RGBs

THEN power on the game console.

                              It syncs.

But if console is already opened, it never syncs is that normal?

Edit : Don’t know what happened last time but today i have tried every combination and it works. Something was wrong that time.

                              Now both works fine.

I have soldered cable like in the instruction but mod its not working.

                                its no sync at all.

Some pictures of your work would help in troubleshooting.
