Hey Marqs, I did the modifications, and I’m using the beta firmware. So far, I’ve only tested CPS2, and it seems quite stable. I also have some other arcade PCBs like TAITO F3, CPS3, NAMCO SYSTEM 12, Naomi, etc. Let me know if you need any specific tests.
July 10, 2023 at 8:43 AM #57424Was the any improvement compared to v0.xx firmware? If you have Taito FX-1B or F2 boards (especially ones that switch between 240p and 480i), those might be good to test as they have been challenging in the past.
August 9, 2023 at 5:35 PM #57691Version 1.04 of the firmware has been added which restores Hybrid scanlines and Reverse LPF options (latter now found under Video in proc). It also natively supports upcoming v1.8 PCBs.
August 18, 2023 at 5:33 AM #57787Hey buddy my setup is different to others in using the ossc on a standard ps5 with HDMI to vga. Pretty simple ps5 still has 1080i support which looks great on the crt.</p>
So the older versions 0.89 with firebrand profiles just work look great indeed but I feel you beta version has a smoother feel to it. What trickery have you done?Anyway without the firebrand profiles I’m getting some of my screen cut normally I’d just adjust v backporch and the screen moves in sync with my adjustments so I can easily modify it to match my screen size.
After you 1.04 beta update in no longer updates on sync and I can’t really adjust the screen so it’s not cropped out. It feels sometimes random I adjusts things refresh and the screen appears in a random place. I tried many things even with 1080iBob off it cuts some screen. Please try add update screen on fly again as soon as you change it.
Ty on other hand for you magic it plays so smooth on ps5. Please add a real ps5 1080i profile if possible. Ty buddy
I’m not near my screen ATM but
It’s hard to tell it’s cropped from video but it’s a little cropped on left side.

August 18, 2023 at 10:19 AM #57789You’re saying you can’t adjust backporch etc in 1080i since the update?
August 18, 2023 at 8:24 PM #57791Oh yknow what I thought I was adjusting it a little the reloading the av to update its positioning. But as you say your right I can’t adjust those backporch things I think .In reality the numbers change and the screen moves but i think that’s just readjusting screen itself to appear in random positions after an av change
August 18, 2023 at 10:58 PM #57793I’m unable to reproduce the issue as backporch adjustments on my setup work normally and in real time. However, if you are passing through 1080i via another HDMI-to-analog adapter to a CRT, then backporch settings are not really effective since they just control data enable signal which is lost during conversion to analog. Even some digital receivers ignore it and assume values from standard timings.
August 19, 2023 at 8:12 PM #57804No worry the o.89/90 firmware I’m able to adjust backporch in realtime even with HDMI adapter. It seems something is different in update which changes how my display is shown I dunno. On the ossc it says 117khz and 1950p but it’s definitely 1080i resolution. Maybe it’s something to do with this
August 20, 2023 at 10:12 AM #57806If it’s reporting the wrong screen mode we really do need to take a look, what’s an easy way to get 1080i out of a PS5? I see no option for it on the dash.

August 20, 2023 at 6:50 PM #57809Which kind of HDMI to VGA adapter you have for PS5? I tried mine with all resolutions PS5 could output with it (720p, 1080i and 1080p) and those worked without issues thru OSSC. Positioning was also correct out of the box.

I have a benfei vga to hdmi adapter as shown in video above. Also As above says setting’s display gives 720/1080i/1080p options. I can tell it’s showing a interlaced resolution but ossc shows 1950p or something.
Also bucko hold ps buttons till beep to get to service menu maybe you’ll find 1080i option from here.
August 20, 2023 at 9:41 PM #57813Do you have identical adapter between PS5 and OSSC? Are 720p and 1080p modes detected correctly (should be reported as 750-p and 1125-p)?
August 20, 2023 at 10:05 PM #57814Okay just checked they are all showing the wrong resolution on the ossc display.
720p is showing 957-p 57.khz 59hz
1080p is showing 2004-p 120khz 59hz
The backporch adjustments work on 720p but not working on the other 2 resolutions
August 20, 2023 at 10:53 PM #57815Is the hardware mod shown on the first page done correctly? The green LED should be off / blinking if it can’t lock to the input (last number of line count seems to be rolling).
August 21, 2023 at 11:55 AM #57819Right nevermind 😔
I never knew it needed modding. Thanks anyway for support. I’m stick with v0.90 for now.
Anyway i was looking to upgrade instead of modding any benefits for the ossc pro on playstation? I’m more a plug and play yknow.
