I tried posting this to the general OSSC support thread but didn’t get any response. I thought someone here might be able to assist me.
I purchased an OSSC 1.6 from VGP and am beginning to experience red/pink artefacts in the picture that it outputs. This unit was in storage but previously it was working fine. If you would like to see what I mean click here..
Unfortunately I can’t find a way to share uncompressed video without requiring an account but the photo should give you and indication of the problem. These artefacts will move around the picture over time.
Could someone confirm if this is a hardware problem and if so help guide me through fixing it or point me in the right direction? I have a multimeter and a basic understanding of electronics. What I don’t have is money to buy a new one.
Of note:
-This occurs on AV1/AV3.
-The test pattern at boot displays fine.
-The brand of analogue cables I am using are retrogamingcables.co.uk/Extron brand.
-This occurs with multiple known working HDMI cables on multiple known working monitors/TVs.
-I have tried splitting RGBs/YPbPr to the OSSC and a PVM. PVM picture is fine.
-I have tried turning off every other appliance in my apartment and used different power points.
-I have tried changing every setting.
-I have tried upgrading to the latest firmware.
-I have tried cleaning the unit with non residual contact cleaner
Thank you for taking the time to read all this.
