Hello, I’m considering buying an OSSC Pro for use with my PS2 Slim.  I’m not sure what all that I need.  I’ve read that I may also need a “SCART’ which I am not very familiar with.  Is there a good tutorial out there for setting up an OSSC Pro with a PS2?  I’ve looked, but having a hard time finding one for the OSSC Pro specifically, lots on the original OSSC though.  Thanks!

I’m not aware of anything specific to OSSC Pro but you will need an RGB SCART cable or a component video cable, you cannot use a composite video cable with OSSC Pro at this time.

Connectivity guides for the OSSC Classic would still apply, but on the pro the big difference is deinterlacing, you’d want to use scaler mode and motion adaptive deinterlacing for best results.

Thanks for the reply!  I use component cables already, so sounds like I am all set there.  Another question… I’ve read about these hardware mods you can do to a PS2, for example one called “Retro Gem” which gives you an upscaled HDMI out.  Is it good to do this and combine it with an OSSC Pro?  Or would an OSSC Pro by itself accomplish the same thing by using component cables in and HDMI out via the OSSC Pro?

Retro GEM gives you HDMI out from your PS2 which guarantees the best, noise free transmission of both audio and video signals. It’s an upgrade over the analogue out for sure, though not as big a jump as say, composite to component.
