Hi…first time trying component input with an OSSC from 2016, using PS2. Running 2x Mode, Generic 4:3. It definitely looks good, compared to generic 480i or passthrough. The other settings (3x or greater) don’t seem to work on my TV.

      A couple of questions.

      1. Is there a way to force true 4:3 through the OSSC? The image is ‘stretched’, almost wide, but not fully. I don’t have this issue with 240pRGB stuff, running at 720p /line tripled

(*UPDATE*), I figured it out, and modified a TV setting to not stretch..still curious about #2..thanks!

      2. Can I upscale some how to 720 or 1080? How about might I go about that?

      Any information appreciated.

      regards

Yes, but not with the OSSC. The OSSC is a line multiplier, not a scaler; so you’ll be able to double that 480i signal to 960i, or apply simple deinterlacing to get 480p, but the OSSC won’t be able to reshape the video signal to an arbitrary resolution.

If you don’t want to rely on your TV to do the upscaling, you’ll need an external upscaler/processor with HDMI input.
