      Hello everyone!

I have a snes pal 1chip-01 which lacks brightness. The picture is dark and lacks brightness compared to my other consoles.
In comparison, the image of a snes 2chip is much brighter. It is the same with the retroarch emulator in wii version and also raspberry (with the rgbPI cable).
Below is a comparison with F-zero running under rgbPI and on my snes 1chip.

You can see that the image is brighter on the raspeberry. The pictures do not necessarily reflect reality as the difference is much more noticeable in real life.
The previous owner has made modifications to the motherboard to obviously reduce the brightness.

My poor knowledge of electronics does not allow me to know if the work was well done.
If anyone can help me correct this problem and get the brightness back to normal?
      Thank you.

This is something we’ve seen quite often actually. Somewhere along the line it became gospel that the three resistors you see in your photos were the correct value. This is not the case, and if you actually check the levels on a scope you can see there’s huge variance between consoles.

To fix the issue you’d need to replace the resistors with the correct values specific to your console.

The problem was with my official rgb cable. With a noname rgb cable from gamecube I was able to get a decent brightness.
